Chevy Chase

Chevy Chase straddles the border (“District line”) between Maryland and Washington, D.C.  It is well known throughout the DC region because it is home to a lot of really wealthy people.  And it’s known beyond the local scene because of Chevy Chase, the actor.

In 2011, 226 single Family homes sold in Chevy Chase, MD, for an average of $1,163,570. This was an increase of 3.6% from 2010. 129 condos sold for an average of $582,402.

In all of 2011 there were 7 short sale/foreclosure transactions in Chevy Chase, down from a high of 14 in 2010.

There are a variety of neighborhoods within Chevy Chase, including Sections IV and V, North Chevy Chase, the Town of Chevy Chase, Rollingwood, Meadowbrook, etc…  Each has it’s own distinct flavor and amenities.  There are several public and private swimming clubs available to residents, along with leafy, green parks, ample public transportation, a comfortable public library, and many neighborhood shops.

Students residing in Chevy Chase will currently attend a variety of schools, including Rosemary Hills Public School, Rock Creek Forest Elementary School, Chevy Chase Elementary School, North Chevy Chase Elementary School, Westland Middle School and Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School.
